A TRIP TO KUALA LUMPUR FOR MY HUSBAND'S ANUGERAH KHIDMAT SETIA TNB 2010-30 TAHUN

We started  from Johor Bahru a day before the much awaited day. Checked in at Hotel Sentral-KL on Friday 21.5.10. The Hotel was exactly beside the Monorail Station  but unfortunately we do not hv the time to take a ride. I noticed that all the roads around this Hotel  has Indian names, Jalan Thamby Pillai, Jln. Tun Sambanthan......etc Most  of the stalls and shops were owned  or operated  by Indians.

On the Left is my son Adib in the small Hotel room.
On Friday  Night, we took a drive to Mid Valley. Bought some tit bits for  our  stay at the Hotel (Isn't it normal  to eat lots during holidays??).Had dinner at the Rasa Mas Restaurant. We were quite dissappointed with the "Ayam  Warisan", were supposed  to be  a quarter chicken but turned out to be a small piece of chicken, more like a bird...........ordered 4 bowls  of porridge, 1/4 ayam warisan, 1/2 Hainan chicken and 4 drinks. The total price is nearly Eighty Malaysian Ringgit. Would not mind if it were delicious but  the only thing delicious  was the chili  sauce. Could  have a dinner for half the price at KFC though.  Anyway, what's done is done  and we must be eat smart the next time.

On the Left is me & Hubby (The Recipient) prior to Award Presentation.

Early the next morning,  my son drove us to The TNB Headquarters at Bangsar  for my Husband's function. Luckily he decided to take the trip with us or we would have to take a cab as we don't know our way around in Kuala Lumpur. We started off early, reached the destination at around 7.30a.m.and  many of the Recipients and spouses  were already waiting  outside the hall. My son? Back to Hotel as he was not invited for the function (Only recipients and Spouses/representative) are invited.

On the Left here are the Recipients waiting patiently for the Hall to be opened.

At around 7.45a.m.,we were ushered  into the function  hall.I must admit that the Organiser had the Itinery  well planned. There were a few committees  to show us to  our seats. The function starts at around 9.00a.m. and  while waiting, there's a slide/video  show about TNB and Electricity  to keep us entertained. They even gave  a mock presentation of how the Recipients are to receive their long service award , although I presume  that they already knows  how to do it since they have already done it during their 25 year award.

The Stage In Which The Presentation took place.

At precisely  9.00a.m., TNB"s Chairman Tan Sri Leo Moggie and his Wife Elizabeth Moggie arrived with the CEO Dato Sri Che Khalid Mohammad Nor and Other members of the Board. The National Anthem and TNB's song were played and after that , we were treated to a short sketch   which really depicted  the true life of a  dedicated TNB Staff .Very Entertaining. After the  relevant speeches were made, the  Awards  Presentation beganl. There were  more than 600 recipients in the morning session  and they presented it albeit  like a graduation ceremony.

On the Left here (At the top Floor) are the Medical
Staffs who were on "Standby".
It was all very  systematic  and well planned. My salutations to the Organisers and the staffs  involved in the preparation and function of this Long Service Award Presentation. After  about 300 Receipients  received  their awards, there was a break to which  a Nasyid group and another small  comedy sketch were presented to keep us entertained  and  to avoid anyone dying of boredom. Then it was back to the  Presentation of the remaining Recipients. At the end of the function, a representative of the Recipients went up to make his speech  and to  end the Ceremony. All in all, it was an amazing and systematic  Presentation  and function,  ending with a delicious  lunch.

The Award  of A 10 gm Gold Coin depicting the Years of service.

On  behalf of my husband, I would like to thank The Management  of TNB  for giving my husband the opportunity to serve  in this Prestiged Company who is immuned to Staffs' Welfare.

During this trip, we also had the opportunity to meet up with my Sister in Law and family from Taiping who co-incidently came down to KL  for my niece's  Convocation  at Uitm- Shah  Alam.  We also caught up with another sister-in-law and family from KL  and they treated  us to Dinner  at  Muara  Ikan Bakar  at Port Klang.  All in all, it was an enjoyable trip  and I wished we  would be able  to go for another trip soon.
